Well, I made in on the hike! Wasn’t difficult at all, compared to the last one! We did Baker Mountain, located in Saranac Lake, NY. This is one of the Saranac 6, the shortest and easiest. My dad and I didn’t start up the mountain until about 2:40 in the afternoon, but it didn’t take us long. I honestly think we will go back to this one in a few weeks – the views of the leaves will be gorgeous.
The mountain summit is just under 2500 feet, and its about 850 feet in elevation gain up the mountain. Only .9 miles to the top, about 1.5 down when you do the longer end of the loop. There was only a couple of spots to see anything, the summit was heavily wooded, so you had to find little paths to get out to some rock ledges, where I was able to capture some great shots.
Next up? I’ll be doing Azure Mountain with my work group in under two weeks. As for the blog, I’ll post soon about my Indy trip!
